Most North American cruise lines have a travel hotline if you’re delayed while en route to a cruise. It’s usually separate from the general customer service line with better hours and can communicate with the ship. I called the Princess hotline recently while trying to make a cruise in Fort Lauderdale with mixed results. They said get to the terminal as soon as possible and the ship left anyway. When I called back they provided instructions on how to meet the ship at another port. Note that you can’t always meet the ship at the first port of call – especially if it’s their private island. Check out my video about missing the ship for more information.

* – Number is technically for inquiries related to flights booked by the cruise line but would be a good place to start if/when customer service is not available.
I could not find any travel delay related contacts for Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises or Virgin Voyages.
Check your cruise reservation documents for more up-to-date contact information specific to your cruise’s itinerary.
